COLD CRICKETERS

PLAY OX SATURDAY. LEADING TEAM BEATEN. Cricketers in their flannels on Saturday felt the etfeet of the cold snap. Except for the Nomads-Whangarei game, where the bat got the better of the ball, scoring was mediocre. High School A, were downed for the first time, and School’s second string also suffered defeat. Portland came very close to beating Onerahi outright, bur the seasiders, with Railways and Hikurangi, gained two-pointers. Nomads and Whangarei will take a point each.

ONERAHI WINS,

Onerahi mot Portland on the latter's ground and had a first innings win by 20 runs. Time robbed the homo team of what looked like a throepoint win. A DRAW AND HIGH SCORING.

Nomads participated in their second drawn game, playing Whangarei at Onerahi, Batting first, Nomads made 188 (Hewin 33, Grove 16, Collins 12, Hedditch 10.) Brainsby did some

very big hitting for 88 not out. Whangarei replied with 167 for 7 (Stevenson 73, Campbell 16), when stumps wore drawn, leaving the game in a very even position.

RAILWAYS WIN. SENSATIONAL SECOND INNINGS. Railways defeated School B by 64 runs on the first innings.
