HAYMAKING SEASON

THE LATEST MACHINERY,

It is with pleasure there is welcomed baok to the “Advocate’s” advertising columns, that well and favourably known firm of farm machinery people, Booth MacDonald and Co. Ltd. of Christchurch, Auckland, Penrose, Hamilton, and other Northern centres. B.<M. & Co., by building an up-to-date factory at Penrose, and equipping it with the latest and best machinery for the economical production of high-grade implements and farm equipment, showed a confidence in the North which it will be their aim to prove fully j warranted. There is much machinery I required in agriculture today which cannot be economically produced within the Dominion—tractors, engines, electric motors, etc. —but whore it is possible to manufacture farm machinery in New Zealand, Booth, Macdonald & Co. have steadfastly qdhered to this phase of the encouragement of local industry, with its consequent employment of New Zealand labour, even in jsome cases where it would have been 'more profitable to have imported. This ! being so, no apology is made for recommending farmer readers carefully to consider the claims of the above advertisers who open their new contract with the “Advocate” by announcing their line of hay machinery, the two main units of which—the sweep rako and stackers—are entirely made in their own factories. Readers are kindly asked to mention the “Northern Advoate” when rnaki'ng enquiries either j personally or by letter, in reference to ( Booth Macdonald’s machinery. ] ;
