The Waikato Racing Chib’s spring meeting commenced today on the Claudelands racecourse. The following are the results up to the time of going to press:—

Waimai Hurdles, of 150 sovs; one mile and a half.—(2) Master Roiey. 9.0* 1; (12) Wako King, 9.0, 2; (10) The Lamb, 9.8, 3. Golden Wedding, Serang and Ring Potoa were scratched. Won by half a length each way. Time—2.so

Trail .Stakes, of 100 sovs; six furlongs.:—First . division: (2) Ruling Chief 7.12, 1; (1) To Hoia 8.:!, 2; (4) Thurnus 8.2, 2. Rangikaha, Searcher, Valquette and Norval Tea were scratched. Won by two lengths, Thurnus six lengths further away. Time—l.l6.

■ Second division: (5) Valstreet 7.12. 1; (12) Nassau Lad 7.12, 2; (2) Loll 7.12, 3. Asmodous, Marcclial, Fraser and Good Idea wore scratched. Won by a head, two lengths between second and third horses. Time—l.l:l 4-5.

Tamahere Handicap, of 150 sovs; four furlongs.—(l) Oil King, 7.12, 1; (4) Betterment, 7.5, 2; (14) Kingsford, 8.0, 3. Tremetus, Excella Tea and Pearlmutter were scratched. Won by half a length, Kingsford two lengths further away. Time—so 4-ssecs.

WaiFaTo Cup, of 650 sovs; one mile and a quarter. —M) True Blood 7.0. 1; (3) High Pitch 8.4. 2; Black Mam- 7.2. 3. Lo Chotica.s ami Ti Tree were scratched. Won by a neck, two lengths and a half between seeond and third horses. Time. —2.11 3-5.
