PANTOMIME AT TOWN HALL

ANOTHER BRILLIANT SUCCESS.

. The Town Hall was filled to capacity last evening, when the pupils of the Misses Somerville singed for the second time the pantomime “The Old Woman in the Shoe. “ The whole entertainment was astonishingly good, each performer, from the tiniest tot to the senior pupil, acting in a most creditable manner. The closing scene, when the whole company assembled laden with floral tributes and chocolates—the greatest offering seen in Whangarei—was one long to be remembered. The • precision with, winch the different items in the long programme were performed was most noticeable, the whole entertainment going with snap and confidence worthy of professionals. The Misses Somerville have once again proved their great ability as teachers w r ho arc able to get the best out of their pupils. This was noticeable behind the scenes, where the large assembly of little performers were kept in the best of good humour all the evening, 'yet were ready instantly to take their places on the stage. This spoke volumes for the kindly discipline exercised by tho teachers. As on the previous evening great assistance was again rendered by the orchestra, which contributed much to the success of the entertainment. All the gentlemen who assisted on the stage and in the body of the hall also contributed a great deal to the smoothness which marked the performance.

The next recital given by the Misses Somerville and their pupils will be eagerly* looked forward to. As with the entertainments already given, a rare delight may be anticipated.
