COMMERCE TRAIN VISITORS
NORTHERN ITINERARY,
ENTERTAINMENT ARRANGE-
MENTS,
Everywhere in the north arrangements are being made to receive the Auckland Chamber of Commerce Train visitors, who will tour the peninsula next week. ,
Carrying 60 business men and representatives of a number of State departments, the train will commence a nine days' tour of the Auckland province tomorrow evening. The tour will virtually end at Whangarei on Saturday night, November 23, and the return to Auckland will be commenced early next morning, tho train being timed to reach the city at 9 o'clock.
Arrivals in the North have been mapped out as follows:—Dargaville, November 18th, Kaikohe 19th, Ckaihan 20th, Kaitaia 21st, Kawakuwa 22nd, Whangarei 23rd. The train will arrive at Whangarei very early on the Saturday, and the combined committee representing ail local bodies has arranged a full day's entertainment. In the morning the sight-seers will have the opportunity of either a trip down the river or a conducted inspection of the Portland cement works. The afternoon will be devoted to a visit to historic Waipu, over the tar-sealed road which caused some controversy in the recent Parliamentary session. A social gathering, which will take the form of a conversazione, has been arranged for the evening, and the train will leave Whangarei, Aucklandbound, at 3 a.m. on Sunday.
