PAROTO ASHORE

VESSEL BUMPING BADLY,

(Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day.

During a gale which raged on Wednesday evening, the Northern Steamship Company’s auxiliary schooner Pareto, of 64 tons, broke its cables while anchored off White Tslanl and was driven ashore.

Wireless messages received from the island yesterday stated that the crew had been landed in safety, but the vessel was bumping and making water in the engine-room. ,
