lu connection with the death of Ailocu. Douoghue, aged 5£ years, who was killed in Manchester Street, in appears that Mr Harry McMillan was driving north at the time of the accident and had just passed St. Mary's Catholic 'School.
He istatos that lie saw a group of children on the opposite side of the street and was keeping a, good lookout,, but did not see the little, girl until she was in front .of him. He tried to pull up, but could not do so in time. The left-hand mudguard shuck the girl and, both left wheels passed over her body. The driver pulled up immediately and with a woman by-stauder ran to where the little igiri lay. They saw she was badly injured and rushed her to the hospital. It was found, on arrival that life was extinct. <■
The girl was a daughter of Mr E. M. Douoghue, teacher *at the Richmo ml .School.
