DRUIDS’ LODGE

VISIT TO PORTLAND,

INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS,

On Tuesday evening a party of about 40 members of the Whangarei Lodge, U.A.0.D., journeyed to Portland!, where a large number of fel-low-members .reside, in order to carry out the ceremony of installing the various officers to their respective chairs. The public was invited and there was a. large attendance, to whom a. welcome was extended by Arch Druid R. Tudehope.

The following officers were installed by the District President, Bro. T. Gough; J.P.A., Bro. R. Tudehope; A.D., Bro. Milton West; V.A., Bro. V. Harrison; secretary, Bro. R. H. Hughes, P.A., P.S.; treasurer, Bro. M. G. Hawken, P.D.P.; A.D.Bs., Bros Humphries and Beasley; V.A.8.5., Bros Woodman ami Burrows; 1.G., Bro. Balder; 0.G., Bro. Manning.

Following the ceremony supper was dispensed and a musical programme, under the direction of the newly-installed Arch Druid, Bro. West, wias curried out. Among the artists wore Bros. Harrison, Proctor, Thomas. Rhodes, West, Wilding and Cole. Bro. Newberry -was Hie accompanist and Bro. J. Handdyn P.D.P, ably winded out the duties of M.C. Bro. Lynch thanked the Whangarei brethren for their yisit and also for the enjoyable evening accorded the Portland members and their friends.
