It is-officially announced that the King has appointed Sir Henry Sleaser, K.C., Lord Justice of Appeal in place of Lord Sankey. Sir Henry was So-licitor-General in the Labour Government in 1924.

His appointment to a judgeship creates a. T?arliam.entavy vacancy in South-east Leeds, where at the .general election ho defeated the Conservative candidate by a majority of 15,000.
