PROMISING GOLD MINE

SAMPLES PLEASE PROSPECTORS. ASSAY EESITLTS SATISFACTORY. (Pei’ Press Association. —Copyright.) DUNEDIN, This Day. There has recently been mining developments of some interest on the property of the Golden Progress Quartz Mining Company, at Oturehua, Central Otago. After some preliminary prospecting, a shaft was sunk and several drives opened out for the purpose of obtaining samples of stone. Four parcels of these were forwarded for assay and the results are said to have delighted those interested. In the meantime, a syndicate made an offer for the proposition but the original shareholders will probably decide to provide the working capital themselves by the issue of preference shares.
