VISIT OF THE EMDEN
RECEPTION PLANS. FURTHER STEPS TAKEN, (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. A decision to take further steps in the hope of making possible a civic reception to the officers of the German cruiser Emden on June 26, was made at a public meeting last night, presided over by Air E. LangguMi, a former Austrian Consul. He read a cable from Herr Busing, German ConsulGeneral for Australia, Alelbouruo, which stated that lie had heard of the efforts the committee, set up last week, and thanked it for .what it had) already done. He asked the committee to work In conjunction with Mr W. Penselcr, Consul at Wellington, who should be assisted in every way. Afr Penselcr advised the committee that ho would be iu Auckland on June 24 and his services would be at the disposal of the committee. He thanked The members for wdiat they are doing. The meeting also decided to arrange a reception and dance on June 28 for the officer? and decorate the hall with British, New- Zealand and German flags. Speeches of welcome are to be made by Mr Langguth, Sir Goo. Fowids, the Rev. A, W. McMillan (League of Nations Lhion) ahd Raihau,
