The South African cricketers, batting first against. Glamorgan, made 212 runs (Deane 58). The county side replied with only 113, Vincent taking 7 wickets for 36 runs. South Africa’s second innings realised 186 (Taylor 57), Mercer capturing 6 wickets for 59. Glamorgan had 5 wickets down for 65 in the second innings when stumps were drawn at the end of the second day’s play. The county is thus 220 in arrears, with the “tail” half of the side left to go in.
