Commissioner O’Neill has (published an official report on his investigation into the sinking of the Yestris. The report stated that the hearing had shown that there was no' basis for prosecuting anyone in the United States for the disaster, but criticised , the management of the* vessel- and' urged stricter inspection of. ships of foreign registry in American trade. Such vessels should • be given {the same inspection as American vessels unless they -held certificates of- inspection from the country of registry.
