The Eight Reverend Dr. H. W. Cleary, Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, arrived by the express this afternoon. He will open the new Catholic Church, in Bank Street at .11 a.m. tomorrow. Father B. .1. Gond, ringer S.M. accompanies the Bishop.
A very hearty welcome home was accorded Mr Tunes (Bunny) Finlayson on the arrival of the express at Whangarei yesterday. Representatives of the Whangarei and North Auckland Rugby Unions were on the station. Bunny v. r as looking particularly well ami fit after his long tour with the All Blacks and this wan commented upon by the Mayor,' Mr L. J. Brake, in his welcome speech. Northerners, ho said, w'crc pleased to see their distinguished representative back. They were very fond of the team, and Bunny in particular. In conversation subsequently, Finlayson expressed himself as glad to be back. The team had been treated wonderfully, and' the real difficulty of the tour had been side-stepping the hospitality of the South Africans.
