MARSDEN RAILWAY MATTERS
MEMBER AND MANAGER CONFER
SEVERAL PROMISES GIVEN
On Wednesday morning the General Manager of the New Zealand Railways and staff, accompanied by Mr W. Jones, M.P., investigated some requests made by‘Mr Tones in -connection with railway matters in the ATarsden electorate. The following replies
were given:— Goods shed ■at Tahokoroa. —'After examining the position, Air Sterling promised to do his very best to have a small shed erected for the convenience of settlers.
Now railway station at Kaipava Flats. —The General Manager gave a definite promise that the department ■would, as soon as possible, provide Kaipara Flats with a new station.
Verandah on Kaiwaka station. — The department is investigating the question, and in any case will provide a verandah next year, if not before. . Regarding the request for speeding up the night train, the General Manager said this would 'be done. A definite ann-onn cement as to the extent will be forthcoming in a fortnight’s time.
