NORTHLAND TROTTING CLUB

COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the committee of the Northland Trotting Club was hold last night, those present-being Messrs L. J. Brake (chair), L. W. Nelson, B. r R. Miller, G. W. Bennett, L. R. Nelson, W. Abbott, A. J. Dawson, .T. N. MeCarroll and H. W. Crawford. An apology was received from Mr F. 0. Armstrong, and a welcome to Mr Miller as a new member was extended by the chair. The Racing Club agreed to allow the Trotting Club the use of the stables'at the same rates as previously, and it was understood tha£ the club could have the use of all the stalls accessary. . A letter was received from Mr H. Shaw, notifying his inability to act as, starter £or the club's meeting, owing to a prior engagement, and Mr L. W. Nelson was appointed to act in his stead. i The resignations of Messrs R. K. Trimmer, W. J. Worthington and A. H., Pergusson were accepted. Messrs J. C, Crawford (Otuhi), C. Shipman (Portland) and A. Morgan (Falcotai) t wore elected new members. It was resolved that Messrs Nelson and Crawford interview Mr H. H. Sterling, General Manager of New Zealand Railways, concerning excursion fares for the Labour Day meeting, and that each owner be notified of the train arrangements.

The chairman's action in asking Mr Rawson to act and assist in the management of the forthcoming mooting in the place of Mr McVay, who was unable to attend, was confirmed. It was decided that the meeting start at noon and continue at 45minute intervals until the seventh race, which will start at 4.20 p.m., and the last race at 5 p.m. Mr B. R. Miller was appointed draw box and flag steward in place of Mr L. W. Nelson. / , A letter was received from the handicapped .Mr G. Paul, concerning the horse Locarno, and it was decided that the owner, Mr J. Gibson, be asked to' confirm the registration of his horse.
