AUCKLAND WINTER EXHIBITION
DISTRICT COURTS.
One hundred and fifty yeais ago, each little village of England lived almost independently of its neighbours, and indeed each home was independent, insomuch that, by a division of labour, food, clothing, boots, etc., were produced on the farm.
Today, however, in our highly commercialised civilisation, the factories are no longer to be found in our rural areas, but occupy extensive buildings in or near our cities.
Is it any wonder then that we cannot form any comprehensive idea of the wonderful and versatile capabilities of our country districts unless all the products are brought together in one composite display? At the Auckland Winter Exhibition, such opportunity is offered to any district or group of districts to show to the three hundred thousand who pass through its gates just what it can produce.
This is not a work for just a few, but it concerns every responsible person interested in the progress of each district. District courts naturally make a central attraction at the Auckland Winter Exhibit ion, and the committee are making provision for several more courts than the half dozen at the last exhibition.
lu addition to district courts, the committee have made provision for those districts where root crops are produced in abundance, by arranging for a district field roots competition, where the prize money is sufficient to warrant keen competition. The committee have arranged to pay the freight on exhibits in this class.
