COLLISION WITH A WAGGON
TERRIBLE INJURIES INFLICTED
ROBERT BAFF SUCCUMBS.
DARGAVILLE, This Day,
A serious collision between a motor cycle and an nnlightod horse-drawn waggon took place at Ruawai last night, resulting' in the ultimate death, at the Te Kopuru Hospital, of the rider of the motor ojclfc, Robert Baff, Public Works foreman.
It appears that Baff, accompanied by a man in the side car, Harry Wallace, was proceeding along the road when he mot and collided with a waggon, driven by L, Ambury, with such force that Baff sustained a compound fracture of the leg and other terrible injuries.
Medical aid and the ambulance were summoned from Dargaville, . .25 miles away, and Baff rushed to hospital, but his injuries were so great that he succumbed carl*' this morning from loss of blood and shock. Deceased was a married man with one child and was the eldest son of Mr R. Baff, engineer of the Otamatea County Council.
Mr Wallace, occupant of the side car, escaped with bgd bruises and Ambury was unhurt.—Press Assn,
