SEVERENCE PROM MEXICO,
ON RELIGIOUS GROUNDS.

Mr Charles Marcil, former Speaker of the House of Commons, has resigned his chairmanship of the Government Caucus in order to have a free hand to prosecute a motion that General Barron, Mexican Consul to Canada, should be expelled for his recent statements in attacking the CatKolic Church. Tho resolution also calls for severance of diplomatic relations with Mexico till religious liberty is established dri that country.—A. and N.Z,
