(Received 12.40 p.m.) WASHINGTON, January 30. Admiral Moffatt has revised his previous figures. He told the Naval Committee that 1490 new aeroplanes, costing over 88,000,000 dollars with maintenance, would be necessary for the now aircraft carriers and cruisers. He declared that these revised figures were made necessary by replacements required in the next few years. Many obsolete planes would go out of service shortly. The new aeroplanes ♦would be built in seven years, beginning in 1930, and would necessitate a total of 2930 aviation officers and personnel.—A. and N.Z.
