CHILDREN’S SONG

CONCERT AT YiM.C.A. The concert chamber at the Y.M.GA. building was filled.,with the sound of sweet music last evening, -when the Children’s Choir gave a second concert. The choir, under the conductorship of Mr E. R. Pailrburn, performed wonderfully, and their four numbers—- “ The Canoe Song,” “Lullaby Land,” “Good Night” and the National Anthem —gave great pleasure to the audience. Miss Greta Gibson, who played the 'accompaniments, and Mr Pairburn were presented with many floral tributes. In thanking those who had lent a helping hand, Mr E. A. Bates especially mentioned Mrs Gibson, who had made the sashes for the choristers. Supplementary to the choir’s performance the following gave items;— Messrs Wise, Fairburn and Cliff (trilo), R. Lecky (clarinet solo), K. T. Hansen and R. Tilly (wrestling), Nellie Lowe, Jean Stepherd, Gwen Munroo, Iris Christian, Leila Bushel (recitations), Mr C. Taylor, Rosie Dennis, Pat Christian, David Thompson, Bernice -Marra (solos), Cynthia Calkin and Rita Tulloch (character song), Joyce Walker, Doris Burgess and Nell Sanders (vocal Trio), Mr J. Entwhistle (conjuring).
