1 MAORI RUGBYITES. j 1 AUTRALIA OMITTED. j 1 WELLINGTON, May 3. : The chairman of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr S. S. Dcan,i announced that ' arrangements had been finalised for the Maori team to tour France and Great J Britain. Passages had been pencilled for the team on s.‘s. Tainui, which is duo to leave Wellington on July 28 for England, via Panama. Hora Hora, at Kensington; Portland a bye. COMMITTEE MEETING,. The management committee met in the Chamber of Commerce rooms , last evening, Mr R. Warner being in the chair. There were also present Messrs W. Thorpe, A. Fulljames, C. McKenzie, A. Chissell, H, J. Eevell, and W. D. J. Conaghan, secretary. A vote of condolence with Mr’Wilding in his recent bereavement was passed. Mr Allan was appointed one of the third grade selectors. It was decided to send a percentage of the gate takings of the North Waikato match to that Union. Applications were received from the High School Old Boys’ Club for two honorary members’ tickets for Messrs C. Cameron and N. P. Jack. It was decided to forward these on. It was decided that charges for club matches at Kensington Park should be as follows:—Gentlemen 1/ to the ground, 6d to the stand; ladies 6d to the ground, free to the stand; boys free to the ground, 6d to the stand. Mi- Parkes was appointed gate-keeper for next Saturday’s games at the Park, In recognition of services rendered by Mr C. Painter it was decided to send him an honorary member’s ticket. The Referees’ Association applied
for a number of jerseys and whistles. The matter was left in the bands of the chairman and secretary with power to act. It was decided to ask Dr. Ward for the assistance of the ambulance corps at Kensington Park and to send him the necessary passes. The confirmation of the arrangements in respect of the referees was left in the hands of the emergency committee. The Y.W.C.A. ladies' committee is to bo approached in regard to the catering and luncheon at the seven-a-side tournament on June 3. The sub-committee appointed to mako preliminary arrangements in connection with the seven-a-side tournament were empowered to secure three sets of . cups as trophies, Mr Chissell was deputed to see into the matter re a fourth set of trophies.
