ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
WHANGAREI CLUB FORMED
A meeting was held in the Y.M.C.A. building on Friday evening for the purpose of forming an Association football team in Whangarei. Mr McAra was in the chair.
The object of the meeting was briefly explained by the convener, Mr E. F. 6. Sharp. It was decided, as it was impossible to form a Y.M.C.Ateam owing to lack of players, to form an independent club to be known as the Whangarei Association Football Club.
It was decided that the club should affiliate with the New Zealand Football Association, and Mr W. A. Cole was appointed delegate. • The election of officers was as follows:—Patron, Mr D. A. McLean; president, Mr D. Smedley; vice-presi-dents, Messrs F. Mogford, A. Dawson; hon secretary-treasurer, Mr E. F. 6. Sharp, pro tern; cSmmittee, Messrs W. A. Cole, Gribblc, Primrose, Follitt and Burnett.
