A NEW POLICY. PEG VISION OF SPOBTS GEOUND. (Keeeived 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, February 16. In the House of Commons, following up an announcement that the Government proposed to grant £200,000 towards a sports grounds for members of the civil service, several Commoners protested that this was unnecessary expense when national economy was important. Mr Baldwin spiritedly defended the grant, pointing out that every • big employer had provided similar facilities for the recreation of employees. The State thus- far had provided no such consideration for its 300,000 employees.—A. and N.Z.
