The Cannes correspondent of the “Star” says; “Several internationally prominent tennis players at present at the Riviera intend to give the commercialism scandal prominence; They promise that the exposures -will surprise the sporting world, showing that the gambling ring which controls the Riviera has now obtained a. grip of tennis, whose players threaten to endeavour to persuade Anglo-American and other federations to put the Riviera on the black list unless tournaments are thoroughly cleansed. Aeseh Liman, in asking the Riviera Federation to undertake the renovating of its own house, says a number of players, supposedly amateurs, are at present under suspicion in connection with the organising of shady halfhidden manoeuvres.
