KAWAKAWA SHOW
FIRST ANNUAL FIXTURE 0 GOOD ENTRIES AND ATTENDANCE SUCCESSFUL OPENING. (By Telegraph.) (From Our Special Reporter.) KAWAKAWA, This Day. The first annual show opened this morning. There is fine weather and a good attendance, which promises to be big by the afternoon. There arc good entries in the horse and cattle classes, there being over sixty bead of pedigree Jerseys and Fricsians, whilst the competition in ring events promises to bo keen. The association has been extremely fortunate in procuring a valuable collection of nine cups for competition in the various classes, also one gold medal and three silver medals. The president, the Hon Vernon Reed, and the executive committee, together with the secretary, Mr G. F.' MacDonald, have all arrangements well in hand. Judging is now proceeding. Following is' the result:— Dairy Cow Competition. —A, C. M. Finlayson’s Ellerlea Enaminto Do Kol, 3.759, 1; D. Taylor’s Tirihonga, 2.584, 2; D. Taylor’s Nancy, 2.524, 3. There were seven entries. Conditions were for cow producing the most butter-fat over two milkings.
