I It is reported that Gandhi lele--1 graphed to Aurobindo Bhose requesting him to return to Bengal and take up the work left unfinished by Das. It is noteworthy that Das first sprang into farce in 1909 when defending Bhose on charges of murder and treason. Bhose is now living in retirement in Pondicherry. It is alleged that he is not interested in polities, but is devoted to metaphysical meditation. — Times. OFFICERS DISMISSED. BAN A GAMBLING DEN. (Received 10.15 a.m.) DELHI, June 22. A report having been made that certain European police officers in Bombay connived at running a gambling den, the Commissioner of Police 5n Bombay dismissed Superintendent Fuller, Inspector Chapman and a Mahomme:l!;n deputy inspector. The lAiropean officers had each a record of long service. The case has created a great sensation. —Times.
