CURIOUS ESCAPADE,

TE AWAMUTU, This Day. John Parkinson, aged eight years, son of a settler at Te Rauainoa, in the Kawhia district, was visiting To Awamutu yesterday and at midday disappeared. Soon afterwards he was traced down the railway line. Search parties were out last night, and tlie> boy was found asleep in some titre© near the railway at Iviokio, twelve miles from Te Awaniutu at an early hour today.
