per cent, and is least in Queensland, where it is 5.1 per cent. In West Aus- ( tralia it is 9.6, in New South Wales 18.7, in South Australia 29.4 and in i Victoria 34.6 per cent. The preponderance of marriageable females is greater in the metropolitan areas than j in the .States as a whole, ranging from | 41.3 iIV Sydney to 75.8 in Perth.
