ENDURANCE CONTEST.
MAN OUTLASTS HORSE. (Received 11.5 a.m.) ...... LONDONj August 24. In a six days' contest of ten hours daily at the Crystal Palace C. W. Hart, ex-champipn walker, 60 years of age, covered 345 miles 880 yards, beating a horse ridden by Arthur Nightingale, ox-oi'oss-country jockey, thrice winner of the Grand National, by seven miles 1022 yards. The horse was withdrawn two hours before the finish, leaving the man the AvinniT. —A. and X.Z.
