LOST SUMATRA.
1 MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE. (Received 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A bottle containing a message supposed to have come from the lost steamer Sumatra was found in the Clarence River. The message states that the vessel foundered in a terrific gale off Port Maequarie June 28, 1923. It bears the signatures "Captain Bell ,, and "Chief Officer PewtreH."—A. and N.Z.
