REMARKABLE SIGHT.
ENAMEL FACTORY FIRE. TURPENTINE METEORS. (Received 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, August 24. A fire in an enamel factory at Dalston provided a remarkable spectactle. Exploding drums of turpentine were hurled hundreds of feet into the air and fell on neighbouring houses, the escaping streams of oil and varnish penetrating everywhere, enveloping the place in flames. Twenty-five fire engines fought the outbreak.
A falling wall fatally injured two firemen. The damage amounts to £30,000.—Sun.
