FIGHTING 'PLANE.

DEADLIEST IN WORLD. SUCCESSFUL TRIALS. (Received 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, August 22. Trials have been successfully carried out with a torpedo 'plane, reputed to be the deadliest fighting 'plane in the world. It carries a pilot, two observers, a 1000-pound torpedo and a large quantity of bombs. It has a speed of 130 miles an hour and is intended for coast defence.—A. and N.Z.
