THOMSON AND BAG-LEY'S REPORT
Thomson, Bagley and Co. report sales as follows for the week ending August 2: —
There is a very keen demand for vegetables and owing to the shortage of supplies very satisfactory prices have been realised. Southern potatoes £
1 have firmed considerably in the South and this will no doubt affect local prices. Fruit was readily sold. Apples are firming perceptibly. The last conI sigmnent of Nelson apples arrived in . good condition. Onions are very firm. There has been a good demand for chaff, oats and wheat at market rates. Bran and sharps are being used freely. L There were many inquiries for weaners, , but the entry advised did not come in. I Grain, Produce, etc. —G.b.o.s. Poultry.—W.L. hens, 5/6 pr; W.L. | roosters, 6/6 pr; 8.0. hens, 5/ to 6/ pr; 8.0. roosters, 6/ pr; ducks, 7/ pr. At Hikurangi a very successful fruit and produce sale was held. The demand was keen and very good sales should be worked up at this branch. MART REPORT. Messrs A. S. Bcvin, Ltd., report sales for the week ending August 2 as follows: —■ At the auction sale held on Saturday the following prices were realised: | Ducks 6/ to S/6 per pair, hens 2/3 to 3/ each, roosters 3/ to 4/ each.
