The inquest concerning the Dixon Street "tragedy resulted in a veTdiet that Miss Scatchard met her death through being run down by a car driven by John L. Pockford.

The 'Coroner said that the hand "brakes -were found to be defective and the injury to them was probably done during the aceident. Pickford had •done Ti'is best and was not shown to bo negligent, but there was lack of knowledge and skill on his part and his method of starting the car was an error of judgment.—Press Assn.
