ANNUAL MEETING. OFFICERS ELECTED. ] 1 The annual meeting of the Whanga- j rei Rifle Club was hold in Mr W. Slade Clark's shop last evening. The president, Mr P. J. Tobin, presided over a fair attendance of members. REPORT AND BALANCE SHEET. The president's report and the balance sheet as published yesterday, were read and adopted. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: Patron, Mr A. J. Murdoch, M.P.; president, Mr P. J. Tobin, re-elected; vice-president, Mr J. Harland, re-elected; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Slade Clark, reelected; committee, Messrs G. Hertzog, C. Hellier, T. Holley, R. L. S. Tudehope and C. Baker, ,with the president, vice-president and secretary ex-officio; handicappers, Messrs J. P. White and D. P. Jones; range officer and coach, Mr J. P. White; auditor, Mr D. P. Jones. GENERAL. It was decided that the members of the club be graded into A, B and ■-> classes by the handicappers and that there be a championship in each class. In the allotment of trophies it was a recommendation to the committee that preference be given to the B and C classes. The handicappers were given power to re-grade any member as occasion demanded. The annual subscription was fixed at 10s, Cadets and Territorials to be allowed to join as honorary members at half price. The date for opening the season together with, the construction of the year's programme was referred to the committee. The committee was instructed to arrange for the return miniature match with the 56th Cadet Company and arrange for entertaining the Cadets after the match. Donations of trophies for the coming season were acknowledged from Messrs A. R. Benjamin, W. Slade Clark and W. Nutsford and a vote of thanks passed to the donors. The competitions for these trophies were left in the hands of the committee. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the "Northern Advocate," Defence officials and the honorary secretary, Mr W. Slade Clark. At the close of business the trophies won during the past year were presented to the various winners.
