WEDDING.
BEGBIE—ACTESON. Ou Thursday afternoon last the wedding took place in the Baptist Church, Whangarei, of Doris Gwynivere, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. T. Acteson, of " Vel'.ndre, ,, Whangarei, and Wilfred Erncvt, youngest son of Mr Robert Begbie, of Pukekoho. The Rev. F. Sampson performed the ceremony, the service being fully choral, Mr C. Taylor presiding at the organ. The church was decorated with arum lilies and spring flowers, forming an arc'i from which hung a. lovely wedding bell of white flowers made by the friends of the bride. Punctually at 3 o'clock the bride entered the church on the arm of her father, wearing a handsome gown of ivory embossed velvet with draped front lined with blush rose crepe de chine and finished it the side witii orange bloseoms. The sleeves were composed of crepe-maru, heavily embroidered in silk. Her veil was arranged with a quaint bandeau of silver I lace and orange blossoms and fell in 1 soft folds to the bottom of her dress, and she carried a lovely sheaf of lilies. The bridesmaid was. her youncest sister, Winifred, attired in an early Victorian frock of apricot :narocain vrith puff | sleeves find finished at the hem with ruchings. She wore a hat of black radium lace with velvet streamers find carried a posey o? old-fashioned flowers tied with mauve ribbon. The bridegroom was ably supported by Mr H. Speir as best man. After the ceremony a re-'option was held at "Wharekoa," the residence of Mr and Mr; H. Mawson, where about 60 relatives and friends partook of a sumptuous repast prepared as a labour bj a few intimate friends of the bride. After the usual toasts had been honoured the bridal party left fcr '' Velmlcc, '' where the bride changed her gown for her travelling dress, which wa3 a fawn gaT'iardine costume, trimmed with cable stitching, with 1.-at of aimovd green "brocade, with shoes and stockings to match. The happy couple left by the boat train amid showers of ?ood wishes and confetti. The bride's mother wore a handsome dress of kingfisher-blue gabardine with hat of Oriental brocade and fur. Mrs Mawson, sister oi: the bride, wore a grey costume, with hat of flime crepe de thine. Mrs Major, aunt of the bride ? wore a navy costume, v.dth golden j brown tat and marabout wiv.p. The young coiroJe were the recipients of I- large number of both useful and costly presents.
