Mr G. C. Mattliewson, of Wellington, arrived in Whangarej. last evening as relieving traffic manager of railways, Mr A. Stubbs having gone to Wellington. "Mr J. W. HJoJlojvs, . inspector of awards, is at ,present in, Whangarei. He made inquiries coneerniiig the strike at Hikurangi, and accompanied by Mr P. S. Norwood, district inspector, is paying visits of inspection > to various premises in Whangarei.
