HOCKEY.
ASSOCIATION MEETING.
The usual fortidghtly meeting'of the Whangarei Hockey Association was held in the secretary's Office last Evening, Mr E. P/Ramsay, chairman, pre-, siding. y/ / It was decidied to abandon the proposed ladies' tour to Taumaranui thin season and that a ladies' representative team be sent to Auckland to compete for the Ladies' Provincial Championship Cup. A letter was received from the Auckland Hockey Association notifying the date of White Horse Cup contest as July 14. As the Whangarei Association had already nominated it was decided that the teams, both ladies and men's, leave Whangarei oa July 12. The chairman intimated that the Kawakawa ladies' team was desirous of playing a game with a club team at Whangarei. The dates of July 10 or 12 were allotted to that match if suitable. The questions of revision of rules and the making of an earlier date for the annual general meeting were discussed and a committee was appointed to go into these matters. The Mangapai and Ramblers ladies' clubs were to be asked to put in their strongest teams on Saturday, July 5, for a trial game, the representatives to be picked immediately afterwards. It was decided that_the fixtures for the second round should commence on. July 26 and that they be played in the order of the first round with change of venue.
