The "Hawkc's Bay Herald's" Taupo correspondent telegraphs that Ngauruhoe resumed activity at 2..'!0 yesterday afternoon, emitting large volumes of smokv. Foil owing upon a frosty night the air is clear and. the view excellent. At sunset the summit of the volcano and Ruapehn also were completely shrouded by smoke, which stretched over ?>OO mile; across the southern and eastern sky. The snow on the lower northern edge of Ngauruhoe has coniincM-ed to melt.—Press Assn.
