RESERVOIR TENDERS (To the Editor) „Sir, —May I draft- your attention to a. question that is being asked on the streets: "Why was the opening und discussion of tenders for the, construction of a reservoir, iii.. Whau Valley don? in committee by the Council members?" Is it'true that there was a tender lower than the one accepted? Why was not the whole, of the tenders published? Were the Councillors afraid, to let the ratepayers know what they were doing? Discussion upoh the tenders was in committee and it resulted in the acceptance of Mr O. R. Haiti's ofifev. It was owing to a misunderstanding as to whether the tenders had been opened in committee that this information was not published on Tuesday.—Ed. "N.A.")
