"SOCIAL PROBLEMS."
Y.M.C.A. LECTURE.
On Tuesday evening there was a fairly good attendance at the Y.M.C.A. building in Rust Lane to hear a particularly interesting address, delivered by Mr Dunlop, of Dunedin. Those who 'were present were most fortunate in having had the opportunity to hear .so much dealing with the ;s6cial problems of the present day. Mr Dunlop "handled his subject in a very able manaer, and left unsaid little cf the information every young' man and "btfy ought to know. \ ! The points - most stressed • by the \ speaker wero the necessity for the prtyer instruction to boys surd girls in tli!?',home, at the age before they launched out into ift which tli ey were" likely to gain information which in many cases would-do more harm than good. The home,, said the speaker, was the place for imparting such information, as would give every young person the opportunity of guarding against troubles which :in after years would bring sorrow and regret.
That the address whs both appreciated and effective was proved fcy the number o'f Vyoung men who sought, interviews wifch Mr Dunlop at the close of his lecture. •
