AMENDED REGULATIONS

The Executive Council has approved the regulations controlling broadcasting, framed mainly on the recommendations of the v recent conference. The new amendments will be announced by the Postmaster-General in a few days. —A. and N.Z.
MORTGAGED SHEEP SOLD. BRANDING PROVISION. EXEMPTION FOR GROWN. WANGANUI. This Day. In reference to a judgment given by Mr J. S. Barton, S.M., for the Crown against the Wanganui Meat Freezing Company, a claim for the value of sheep sold by a returned >oldier who obtained payment therefor from the company without disclosing that the stock was under mortgage to the Crown, the Magistrate held tha't Sections 25 and 2(3 of the Chattels Transfer Act,, which provide that a! mortgage muft contain the brand i'.id earmark, do not apply in cases wliere-< tha Crown is the mortgagee.
The decision is important to freezing companies and stock buyers generally.—'Press Assn.
