CARTERTON CONFLAGRATION.
CARTERTON, This Day.
Fire broke out at 10 o'clock last night in old unoccupied premises in south Carterton, formerly known as Fairbrothcr's store, a large, twosi orey building with a small building detached at the rear. Both premises were used to store second-hand furniture, including four billiard tables. The fire broke out in the smaller building, which v-as completely demolished, together with the contents. The larger building caught alight, but the brigade made a' good save. The large building was insured for £300 and the small building for £75 in the State office. The contents were insured for £200 in the Victoria office. —Press Assn.
