Ernest Terah Hooley, Thomas Fleteiher (ex-Mayor of Denby), Joha.it Angus McDtxnald (ex-Mayor of Ilkeston), Thomas Flewellyn Demoiy ( Hooley's secretary), William Alfred Wallis (solicitor) and Bert rand Breakspear (Hooley's clerk) are being prosecuted at Bow Street on a charge <xf conspiring to defraud in iconnctct joci with the flotation of tlic Jubilee Oatton Mills, Limited, Oldham. It is alleged that. Deimery induced Lewis, ti wealthy young Cardiff shipowner, to invest £(>O,OOO by a false .statement. Lewis did not. know of Hooley'« connection with the project, the latter studiously keeping in tho background. —A. aim N.Z.
