Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their usual weekly fat stock sale at West field, on Wednesday, 25th inst ,ns under: — Beef. —A naediium yarding, and prices improved, especially for prune light sorts. Extra choice heavy ox, £1 4/; prime, £1 3/ to £1; second quality, 10/ to 15/. Sheep.—A moderate yarding, which met with a very keen demand. Prices improved 3/ to 4/ on la At week's sale. Pigs. —A big yarding. Prices improved. Choppers, £3 to £2; baconers, £3 to £2; porkers, £2 to 27/6. Lambs. —A big yarding, and prices advanced on the previo-us week. Alfred Buckland and Sons report:— On Wednesday nt our weekly WestfieM stock market our beef pens contained 414 head, comprising 298 steers, 114 cows and heifers, and 2 bulls. There wr..s an improved demand, competition being spirited throughout. Last week's values were easily sustained, find .in some instances exceeded. CHRISTCH URCH, This Day. The improved tone of the lamb market in England was reflected at the Addington sale, there being a rise on last week of fully (J/. A full ring of exporters operated keenly throughout and paid on a.n average 7Jd to 8d per lb. Mutton was a shade better, but beef, on account of an excess yiarding, receded in value. Apart from this .section it was the best sale at Addington for a long time. ' Store Sheep.—A big yarding amd a particularly keen sale, especially for lambs. The demand was unsatisfied. Values for all classes we,re well ahead of h'st week. Fat Cattle.—An over supply, 300 head being yarded. Last week's recovery was lost. Prime beef sol'l at 127/0 per 1001b, but secondary at about 22/6. Extra prime steers £14 15/, prime £9 to £12 15/, medium £0 5/ to £S 17/6. lighter £5 to £0 12/0. Prime heifers £5 5/ to £7 5/, ordinary £3 10/.

WAIKATO STOCK SALES

The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report as follows. — At Hamilton on Tuesday last wo had a small yarding of all classes of stock, with the exception of store cattle, which wore poorly represented. Beef ?howed a slight improvement on the previous week, steers, which were few in number, making to £6 10s for medium weights. Heavy cows realised up to £5 Is, lighter weights £2 10s to £4, empty cows £1 9s to £1 16s, bulls £1 6s to £2 Is. Sheep were in good supply pnd under strong competition sold at rates well in advance of late rates. Fat wethers made from 13s 7d to 15s 6d, fat ewes 10s to lis 7d. A pen of well-fat-ted Shropshire ewes reached 12s Od, second quality 8s sd. Lambs were egain in great demand, best stores reaching 10s 2d, others 4s 8d to 6s Gl The yarding of pigs was heavy and prices full.? equal to and in the else of porkers primer than the previous week.
