SUCCESSFUL OCCASION.

DABGAVILLE, This Day.

The annual racing fixture of the Northern Wairoa Club, postponed from Saturday last on account of the course being defective in consequence of heavy rain is being held to-day under ideal weather conditions with the track in good going order and the attendance quite up to the average. The results so far are as follows:—

Finlayson Handicap oi - Uu sovaj one mile—Waima, 8.0, 1; Lombardy, 8.0. 2. The only starters, the scratched horses being Gatherer, Araiuen, Guianfonn and Cinda. Won by two lengths. Time—l.so 3-5.

Maiden Handicap, cf 60 sovs; six furlongi3—Mavourneen, 8.8 1; Mmiwhangata, 7.9, 2; Valley Queen, 7.8, 3. Scratched—Jaffna, Sparky, Alstone, Formore, Argent, Gift, Okararoa, Annaroon, Killott and Miss Lueullus. Won by a length and a half. Time—l.lo.

Northern Wairoa Cup, of 150 sovs; one mile and a quarter—Lady Energy, 9.0, 1; Gatherer, 8.3, 2; Blue Cross, 9.5, 3. Scratched—-Sanacre and Eralf. Won by a length. Time—2.l3 4-5.
