Lighter prime £15 10/ to £19 10/, plain and light £7 10/ to £15; cows and heifers, £12 10/ to £17 10/; for best heavy prime cows; lighter fat cows, £8 10/ to £11 10/; other cows, £5 5/ to £8 5/. There was a heavy yarding of sheep, the entry of 2738 being an 'increase of 1732 on last week's total. Competition was steady throughout, although last week's advanced rates were scarcely maintained. Extra heavy prime wethers made from £2 2/6 to £2 5/3; heavy prime £1 19/6 to £2 2/; medium to heavy prime wethers, £1 16/6 to £1 19/; light prime wethers, £1 12/ to £1 15/; unfinished wethers, £1 9/9 to £1. 14/6; best heavy prime young ewes, £1 15/ to £1 18/; heavy fat ewes, £1 12/ ro £1 14/; lighter fat ewes, £1 8/ to £1 11/; others, £1 3/6 to £1 7/6. * Lambs were also penned in increased numbers and met with a spirited sale, values beintf very firm. Best heavy, £1 10/ to £1 13/6, lighter prime £1 6/6 to £1 9/, light fat lambs £1 3/ to £1 5/, unfinished 19/ to £1 2/6 (453 sold). Pat young calves were penned in average numbers. 'Competition was extra keen, and last week's advanced rates were improved upio'n. Runners made from £6 15/ to £9 7/. Heavy vealers £5 to £6 2/, medium £4 to £4 16/ ( light £3 to £3 11/; small fat calves, £1 14/ to £2 14/; fresh dropped, 13/ to £1 3/ (124 sold). Pigs were yarded in average numbers. There was a fair demand and values improved slightly on last report. No choppers yarded. Heavy baconers, £6 to £7 3/; light to melium, £5 to £5 17/6; heavy porkers, £3 10/ to £4 9/; medium porkers, £2 17/6 to £3 7/; light porkers, £2 1/ to £2 16/. No store pigs yarded. (230 sold).
