MR JAMES SHEARS, BRICKMAKEIi

Still another evidence of tiie progress of the North is to be found i» the establishment of a well-equipped brickyard tit Otonga by Mr James Shears, who is now in a position to supply bricks in any quantity. The Shears family have been in the brickmaking business, father aud son, for many years and their motto has always been '' turn out tho best.'' Mr Shears states that suitable clay has been found and he is able to turn out a first-class article and his prices will bo kept down to allow only for a small margin of profit. He points out that sufficient bricks can be provided for a six-roomed house for £65 and he luis already substantial orders on hand. Builders will doubtless be glad to encourage local industry.
