Distinctions in dress for wouals, similar to those authorised in 1916, may now be worn by officers, soldiers and members of the military and j nursing services in respect of wounds j sustained in any campaign .prior to August 4, 1914—that is, one strip of gold braid may be worn for each.occasion on which an officer, etc., was wounded. Retired officers, ex-officers, discharged soldiers, and retired nurses who were in direct military employment may, if duly qualified, wear these distinctions on plain clothes. Army Order 343 of 1918 remains in force as regards eligibility for, and the wearing of, the distinction in dress for wounds for all officers, soldiers, etc., who have beer, wounded in any of the campaigns since August 4, 1914. Official casualty lists or records constitute the authority for wearing wound stripes. Accidental and self-inflicted woun-ls do not qualify. Any unauthorised person who wears the distinction in" dress for wounds is liable to prosecution.
